Videon Announces the Availability of TV Widget Development Platforms

Videon Central, Inc. (Videon), a leading provider of digital video solutions, Blu-ray Disc middleware, and Charter Member of the Intel® Consumer Electronics Network (Intel® CEN) has announced today the availability of TV Widget Development Platforms. Videon is the supplier of these hardware platforms for TV Widget development on the Intel® Media Processor CE 3100, a system-on-chip (SoC) built on Intel® architecture and designed specifically for consumer electronics (CE).

The TV Widget Development Platform is a developer hardware system that comes with essential tools needed to test and validate your TV Widgets in full 1080P resolution and is intended to supplement the Widget Development Kit (WDK) for the Widget Channel framework. The platform is a small-form factor box with dimensions of 12.6” (320mm) wide x 11” (281mm) deep x 2.28” (57.8mm) high and is based on the Intel® Media Processor CE 3100 with an 800MHz CPU and supports HDMI pass-through. The development system kit includes the hardware platform, power supply with power cable (100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz), 31-button IR remote control, pre-loaded Widget Channel software including sample TV Widgets and utilities, USB to serial dongle, Ethernet cable, HDMI cable, audio cable (L/R RCA), and Quick Start Guide documentation.

As an Intel® CEN member, Videon offers a wealth of CE 3100 processor-based system level and Widget Channel software knowledge and expertise. Videon will provide technical support for both the hardware and software components and is available for value-added services like TV Widget development or other engineering design and customization work.

Marvell and Videon Central Collaborate to Enable Qdeo-Powered Blu-ray Platform for High-End Home Theaters

Santa Clara, CA (May 28, 2009) — Marvell (NASDAQ: MRVL), a leader in storage, communications, and consumer silicon solutions, and Videon Central, a leading provider of Blu-ray Disc and DVD product solutions, today announced a collaboration to deliver a Blu-ray Disc playback platform aimed at meeting the stringent video quality requirements of the high-end home theater market. The platform comprises of Videon Central’s production-ready small form factor Blu-ray and DVD decoder board and industry proven middleware stack, coupled with the Marvell® 88DE2750 digital video format converter with second-generation award-winning Qdeo™ processing. The platform supports BD-Bonus View (profile 1.1) and BD-Live (profile 2.0) as well as legacy red laser media such as DVD, DVD-VR, SVCD, VCD, and CDDA.
