In 1997, Todd Erdley assembled an outstanding technical team that enabled
Videon to grow from a six person organization to an industry leader of
70 people specializing in digital video solutions for the consumer
electronics market. Led by Todd’s vision, Videon has established an aggressive business model focused on expansion in areas
including Blu-ray, High Definition Television, Display Technology, and
In-Flight Entertainment.
Todd’s business insight for Videon evolved from his initial startup, Paragon Technology. In 1992, he successfully positioned the company as a recognized leader in the development of computer based digital video disk (DVD) applications. He was responsible for sales and marketing as well as defining the company’s technology roadmap. Following several years of sustained growth, Todd and his partners sold Paragon to Fieldworks, Inc., where he continued to work until founding Videon in 1997.
Much of Todd’s operational expertise developed from his work for the Department of Defense. He worked at HRB Systems (now Raytheon) in State College, PA for four years and prior to that, at Locus Inc. for one year. He performed research and development at these companies in the areas of analog, RF, Microwave and antenna design.
Todd received a BS and MS degree in Electrical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. The focus of his thesis research at Penn State included antenna design and simulation. He remains actively involved with Penn State’s College of Engineering and Electrical Engineering Department through participation in the College of Engineering’s Industrial Professional Advisory Committee (IPAC) and is a frequent lecturer at various engineering classes.

Before joining the others to found Videon, Paul’s leadership in design effort at Paragon Technology led to the development of their suite of MPEG-2 decoder products: Diamond Multimedia’s DVD/AC-3 decoder card for use in the Maximum DVD upgrade kit, Toshiba America’s MPEG-2 decoder card and TC81211 verification board and Toshiba America’s full motion video interface board. He received a BS in Electrical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.
